About

Machine Relations is a discipline, not a product.

It is the canonical name for the shift from human-mediated to machine-mediated brand discovery — the system that GEO, AEO, and AI SEO are all partial descriptions of.

The term was coined by Jaxon Parrott in 2024 after nearly a decade of watching AI systems become the primary gatekeepers of brand discovery from inside the earned media industry. The market had language for fragments — generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization, LLM visibility — but nothing that named the whole shift.

Machine Relations names it.

This publication covers the discipline: the framework, the five-layer stack, the distinction between MR and its component tactics, and the mechanics of building trust architecture that AI systems cite.

The canonical resource for the Machine Relations framework lives at machinerelations.ai.
